Bristol Twenty Coffee Company
"Bristol Twenty Tea & Coffee Co we have pooled a collective total of 40 years experience in the coffee and catering trades to provide a one stop solution to your tea and coffee needs. We supply a large range of commercial coffees, as well as a unique blend of small batch roasted espressos and unusual single estate coffees. Along with our extensive and eclectic range of single estate and blended teas, we also supply a full range of chocolates, syrups and sundries to compliment your beverage service. When we started Bristol Twenty Coffee Company, we knew that we wanted quality and responsibility to define us. But when we took the leap to roasting our own coffee in 2014, that idea of responsibility became paramount. We had to decide how to maintain a focus on quality coffee while being responsible members of the complex supply chain that is coffee. It was through researching this that we got to know the Rainforest Alliance. We’re now even prouder to have aligned our goals with those of the Rainforest Alliance for our coffees, and are honoured to make their good work better known from our own small corner of the world. Many of our coffees are now Rainforest Alliance certified if not triple certified with Fair Trade and The Soil Association accreditation. We have also strived to ensure that everything from our coffee packaging, to our tea bags is plant based and contains no nasty plastics. All of our new packaging is either fully compostable, recycled, recyclable, reusable or all of the above. Our philosophy is simple: we want to help you serve the very best range of hot drinks possible in the most sustainable way we can."

The Swiss Water® Process starts by developing GCE (Green Coffee Extract) from green coffee beans. The GCE includes fresh water and all the solubles found in coffee beans without, you guessed it, caffeine! Fresh green coffee beans that are cleaned, washed, and soaked. The GCE solution is made to flow around the green coffee beans for 8 to 10 hours, removing up to 99.9% of the caffeine. Caffeine is removed from the GCE solution using heat, and the beans are then soaked in the GCE solution to re-infuse them with flavour.

What does natural decaffeination mean?
Natural decaffeination means that the caffeine in a coffee has been removed using all natural processes. The leading natural decaffeination processes currently being used are Swiss Water® Process, Mountain Water Process, Sugarcane Process, and CO2 Process. All our decaf coffees are naturally decaffeinated 😃
How long does roasted decaf coffee last?
An unopened bag of roasted decaf coffee beans can last for up to 2-3 months, less if the beans have been pre-ground for you. The ideal time to enjoy your roasted decaf coffee is 7-21 days after the roast date, as roasted beans experience a 'degassing' phase after they have been roasted, during which time carbon dioxide is naturally released from the beans.
The one-way valve that is common in most coffee packaging allows carbon dioxide to be released from the bag, while preventing oxygen and moisture from entering it. Once the degassing phase ends the beans begin absorbing oxygen. This process causes a slow and gradual decline in freshness and aroma.
Personal taste and storage methods will also affect the freshness of decaf coffee beans. Coffee should be stored in an airtight bag or container, out of direct sunlight, in a cool dry area.
How much caffeine is in decaf coffee?
The amount of residual caffeine in decaf coffee depends on the process that was used to decaffeinate the green coffee beans. We have found that the Swiss Water® Process and Mountain Water Process result in a 99% caffeine free coffee, while the Sugarcane Process and CO2 Process result in a 97% caffeine free coffee.
When are orders dispatched?
Our decaf coffee roasters send coffee directly from their roasting facility to your home to guarantee freshness. This means that when your order contains decaf coffees from different roasters as part of the same order, each will ship separately.
You will receive an email with tracking numbers once orders are dispatched.
It's important to keep in mind that roasters have individual roasting schedules and most do not roast over the weekend. Orders are typically dispatched 24-48 hours after roasting.
Is decaf coffee safe for pregnant women?
Current Australian Guidelines indicate that "Pregnant or breastfeeding women and children should restrict their caffeine intake."
All decaf coffees on Tasty Decafs have all been decaffeinated using natural decaffeination processes, free of chemicals and additives, and are 97-99% caffeine free.
